City/Zone Coordinators Prayer Info

Seek God for the vision of how you can fulfill your role to accomplish God's purposes in conjunction with the Jesus Video Project of Texas. Remember how this harvest will impact the spiritual climate of the state. Remember too that unity and love is foundational to the harvest.   Make Christ's high priestly prayer John 17:20 - 25 a daily matter of prayer. Take hold of the fact that your city/zone is an area that God wants to transform so that His will shall be done. Tear down any strongholds in your own thinking that would say this is an impossible task, because with Him all things are possible.  Remember He can change a nation in a day. Remember that He holds the hearts of kings in His hands.  Remember that the earth is His footstool. Remember that He intends to give His Son nations as a part of His inheritance. Remember it is His desire that your city would no longer be a place called desolate but it will be called Beulah.

Read Acts as a textbook for reaching souls. Read scriptures with the word "city" in mind. Let God open the eyes of your understanding to see His desire for cities and entire regions to be reached with the Gospel.

Pray that He will give life to dry bones. Pray that He will put His Spirit in you and that you will live and be placed in your own land. Ezekiel 37:1-15.  Pray that He will pour out His Spirit on your offspring and bless all your descendants.  Pray they will spring up like grass in a meadow. Isaiah 44: 3-4. Pray that Jesus would stand in the midst of the city and call out, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." John 7:37-39.  Proclaim the Word prophetically over your city.

Pray that the Nehemiah’s and Joshua's would be raised up.  Pray for the deliverers to be sent in.

Pray for warring angels to do the battle in the heavenlies necessary to release the captives and set them free.

And pray that His people will be people of prayer. That they would not keep silent until the entire city becomes a place of praise and honor to Him.

Pray for His coming day of glory! Isaiah 62.


AND REMEMBER THAT WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRAYING IN THE HARVEST!


Just as the miracle of life in the seed is released through a creative order of God, so the ministry of winning lost souls cannot be done by the efforts of man alone but in action that agrees with God's ways. "So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth." (I Cor. 3:7a.) Harvests are effected and affected by prayer, for it is God who causes the harvest.

At the day of Pentecost, 3,000 souls were reaped after His people had waited in united prayer. In Acts 4, the building was shaken as they prayed and a multitude believed. In the first accounts of harvest, multitudes are being "added", but by Acts 6, the numbers of disciples were being "multiplied". The twelve said, "We will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word. Then the Word of God spread and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem." Acts 6: 4,7.

The priority of the apostles in the early church was to PRAY IN THE HARVEST. And so it must be today.  Mobilize prayer in the city so that the spiritual climate can be changed, so that passion for the lost within the Body of Christ is increased, so that the harvesters are raised up, and that the hearts of "pre-believers" would be prepared to hear the Gospel.

Prepare yourself by reading such books as "That None Should Perish", a text book on prayer evangelism by Ed Silvoso; "Blueprint for the House of Prayer" by Terry Teykl, which outlines a strategy for church and city prayer movements; “Prayerwalking" by Steve Hawthorne and Graham Kendrick.

Use all the tools available such as the Transformations and Harvest films. Check in with Mission America to see the latest information on Lighthouses of Prayer. Gather a core team to seek God's direction for your zone/city prayer efforts. Check in at the Newsletter for JVP to see current prayer requests and articles on praying in the harvest, how to pray for the lost, etc., which will be coming.

See this as a major opportunity and privilege to draw the prayer power in your city together to pray with one accord and to teach prayer and model prayer at every gathering. Plan on-site coverage for meetings, pastor gatherings, fund-raising dinners. Pray everywhere at all times. Worry about nothing. Trust in Him, knowing that He is doing a new thing in these days.

Pray Psalm 24: 7 -9 knowing that the Word never returns void.

“Lift up your heads, O you gates. And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in."

Prepare the way for His entrance into your city. His presence will heal, save and rescue!

Depending on size of zone/city this plan might be duplicated in a number of areas, even quadrants of a city.

September 11 - Zone/city committee gathers to pray (Meetings continue bi-weekly for prayer and planning. Motto: Agonize before you organize.)

September 18 - Prayer meeting for Intercessors - A core group that will meet biweekly to pray for the Project, its needs, and the people involved. These meetings will be supplemented by an e-mail/phone list of those committed to pray throughout the city.

September 25 - Pastors and Intercessors Prayer Meeting - Pastors and their intercessors from churches participating in the video project join together to pray.

Consider watching either the Transformations or Harvest Films.
Pray through reconciliation of pastor/intercessor relationships as well as for unity of the Body of Christ and that God’s will shall be done in the city.

October 20-21 - Prayer Seminar-Open Invitation to City

Teaching opportunity, perhaps using Intercessors International training or other material geared to teach the responsibility we have to pray, praying for pastors, unity, and the harvest. Use the Harvest or Transformations film to cast the vision.

November 10 - Lighthouse and Prayerwalking Seminar

Geared to intercessors and those raised up in churches to lead this effort. Empower them with every possible aid so that they are armed to energize their church and take their people outside the walls. www.missionamerica.org, www.lighthousemovement.com, www.harvestevan.org, www.waymakers.org.

January 15 - LIGHT UP THE CITY - Commissioning of Lighthouses for the City (May be done in multiple locations)
Exciting opportunity for pastors to join together to commission Lighthouses of Prayer. Might be followed up with radio teachings by pastors on dedications of homes to Christ, cleansing of hearts and homes, prayer evangelism.

January 16 - Prayerwalking in the city starts in earnest to pray for the hearts of the pre-believers to be prepared, to pray for their felt needs, to plow the ground so it will be ready to receive the seed.  Don't overlook the students for campus praying.

February 28 - Ash Wednesday - Beginning of Lent
Use Seek God for the City and PrayUSA calendars. www.waymakers.org,
www.usprayertrack.org.  Cry out to God for a visitation from on high. Talk about fasting and a fasted lifestyle.

Cover the city in 24 hour prayer! Line up churches to take a day of 24 hour prayer. Don't stop at distribution but continue on .... if possible, until Jesus comes!
This can be done through prayer in homes. Also consider a central prayer location open for community prayer. If one is established, it will be in place after distribution. Consider praying for each person by name.

March 3 - Outside the Walls - Raise Up Prayer Everywhere

Park outreaches and other tangible ways to show the love of Jesus to the community. Consider the goals for Jesus Day: No one goes hungry. No child is
fatherless. No one suffers alone. Fill the streets with singing.  www.mfj.org

Network interested churches for park ministry across the city. Show Jesus' love and prepare the way as you prepare the hearts of the people.

April 7 - Harvest Prayer and Praise Gathering
Celebrate the Harvest which is coming soon! Gather together to uplift the name of JESUS!
