By the end of 2002, the JESUS Video Project of Texas has mailed over 2.4 million videos with the participation of over 3,000 churches. Many thousands have accepted Christ as Savior by watching the video in their home. That is a wonderful accomplishment, but the state of Texas currently has over 8.7 million homes. That means a large portion of the state still needs JESUS!

For area teams that followed-up the mailing and kept statistics, our "worst" results were one person received Christ for every twenty homes. Our best follow-up teams found that one person for every four homes made a commitment. Now, who wouldn’t take even the worst stats!

When it comes to cost effectiveness of the JESUS film, using our WORST results, the cost was about $50.00 per first-time decision. A recent major crusade held in a metro area of Texas cost almost $300.00 for each decision. That number includes all decisions, first-time and rededications! Crusades are important, but using the JESUS film will increase the effectiveness of the crusade! The JESUS film is one of the most cost effective means of sharing JESUS.

We now live in a sight and sound generation, and with the JESUS film, scripture comes to life in the privacy of the home. Using the USPS to get the video in to every home, rejection is limited and those that might never have accepted a video from someone knocking at their door are very likely to watch the video. We have dozens of letters from people that told us they would have never watched the video if it had not come to them through the privacy of their mailbox.

Unfortunately, the people sitting in the pew are not following the Great Commission as they should. The JESUS Texas mailing strategy gives the average Christian an opportunity to get involved with the fulfillment of this great commandment. We know that God’s Word will not "return to Him void." Use this opportunity to share JESUS with every man, women and child.
